Members receive BADMINTON magazine and receive discounts on Badminton England events. Foundation Clubs Foundation Club recognises all affiliated badminton clubs, which are accessible and welcoming to everyone, and those which are organised to the highest level and with the safest standards. BADMINTON England set out a number of criteria which clubs need to fulfil in order to gain Foundation club status. These criteria are split into 4 sections: · The Playing Programme Premier Clubs Premier Club is BADMINTON England’s Club mark standard for junior clubs or clubs with junior sections and is awarded to proven high quality badminton clubs. Premier Club means that clubs ensure the well being of young people whilst encouraging them to enjoy sport and lead a healthy lifestyle. They encourage young people to optimise their talents and support the development of the most talented. The criteria for Premier Club is at a higher level than Foundation club but still comes under the same 4 sections listed above. If you are interested in becoming either a Foundation Club or a Premier Club then contact Matt Hanson, the county development officer on 07825 981924 or matthanson@badmintonengland.co.uk Performance Centres Performance Centres will provide a platform to increase competitive opportunities and raise standards for all players. In order to gain performance centre status, the club must have already satisfied the criteria for Premier Club. The structure of a Performance Centre may take the form of a consortium of clubs, a Premier Club or badminton centre. There is currently funding available to support three performance centres across Staffordshire and the Black Country.
Introducing Silver Club AccreditationWelcome to the new section of the Staffordshire Badminton Association Clubmark page. It has been developed to provide every Badminton club in Staffordshire with dedicated support through resources, officer time and potentially funding to support the whole process. Clubmark is a cross sport quality accreditation for clubs with junior sections. According to research conducted by the Northwest Regional Development Agency in 2004, three fifths (60.5%) of young people belong to a sports club outside of school. It is vital that these clubs serve young people well. Sports clubs that work with children and young people need and deserve support to improve the quality of work they do so that we can develop and aid young people’s ability, talent and to provide a foundation for an active and healthy lifestyle.
